So I have been waiting all week to finally get these parts swapped out from this XEON Server and I ran into a big problem.

I was trying to re format the drives and Windows does not detect any drives as all?!?!

I contacted my Friend (Now a Ex Friend) who sold me this server to ask him for the support disks, And he does not have any, So he says I'll have to figure it out.

I asked for my money back, And I was told to shove it.
So Now I have this server with Four Drives that I can't use.

I originally wanted to swap out my E6400 for the XEON 3070 and put it all in this nice big case. But I wanted to Re format the Drives before taking the server Apart.

It is a ASUS P5M2-M Mobo, So can anyone help me unlock these drives so I can use them?

Here is a Link to the MOBO spec sheet,
http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-ASUS-Asu...7-2-x-PCI-E-x8

Please, Can someone help me? The server has a Floppy drive if that will help the situation out.

Lesson learned, Don't just buy stuff from people without making sure it works, Or it has all the stuff you need to run it.

Are these SATA drives using the onboard RAID controller? Can you boot the server into the RAID configuration manager?

When it Boots up it goes through it's little check list and shows all the hardware, I tried to hit F2 and nothing happened. So far I can get into the BIOS, Then I got into the WIN xp Install page, But windows could not detect any drives. In the BIOS it shows the Four Drives are connected and working. It asked for the Setup Software for the Third party RAID, But of course I did not have it to continue.
And I don't see anything plugged into any of the PCI slots, So I think it is using the On board RAID controller.
Should I be looking on the screen when it boots up for the type of RAID it is using? Those screens go by so fast it is hard to see what is on each page!

sounds like noone used the raid driver and did the F6 during the XP install, also, I'd access the raid configuration, which is usually after the BIOS and before windows, you would need to read up on the key command for it, and make sure that's what the BIOS is configured for is RAID.

But how do I figure out which type of RAID is being used? The server won't load its' OS, So I an only go into the BIOS. When I did try to go into the RAID configuration it asked for the disk?
And trying to read the Screens while it is booting is very hard as the screens don't stay long enough for me to read everything on them.
And in the BIOS it shows that it is Configured for RAID, I think? It shows all four drives are connected and running.
I really hope there is a way to solve this.
I need very informative steps on what to do, As I have no experience with RAID setups.
Thanx for your help guys.

Thanx for the Link, I was looking on ASUS's Website but couldn't find this particular MOBO.
BTW,I want to put the XEON CPU on my ASUS P5B then put my MOBO and XEON into the Server case because it has a lot more room inside than my case. Hopefully I'll be able to Overclock it past my Current E6400 at #.2Ghz for some more Performance!
I will deal with the then un used ASUS P5M2-M Board later, Maybe sell it or something.
So, I am still very confused as to what my next step is going to be. Someone said I need to find out what kind of RAID Config the Drives are currently under, then I need to get that RAID driver or something like that.
I really have no clue where to begin now.
Can someone help break down the steps in Laymans (NOOB) terms.
Thanx

After looking inside to which way the RAID jumper is set, It is on the Default jumper.
I am hoping that this little piece of info might help.
So once I find the proper drivers, Can I put them on a Flash drive or Regular CD?
I have a Floppy Drive, I just don't have a floppy disk at the moment.
Someone said I just need the SATA drivers from this site,
http://support.asus.com/downlo...age=en-us&model=P5M2-M

So I pick the LSI megaRAID drivers, Put them on , Hopefully a Flash drive, Then load it up , Hit F6, Then when it asks for the drivers I choose the path to the Flash drive and load them up? Does that sound right?

you'll need a floppy disk, and the link has the drivers you need for that motherboard, and do download and read the manual.

XP will not see or read anything but a floppy when you press F6.

O.k. So I downloaded the Drivers, And it came as an Iso file. I un-Rared them and got a folder which has three files inside.
1.win32_64(Regular looking folder)
2.win32_64.zip(Rar'ed file)
3.win32_64.exe(In the shape of a floppy disk)
So Do I put all three folders on or just the one that looks like a floppy disk?
Or do I leave them in the ISO format that it came from the site, and copy that onto the Floppy drive?
