PLEASE I need help updating BIOS on Iwill KK266 can I ............

I have a Iwill KK266 that has been running a T/bird 1200/266 (I just put it in a new box for my wife) and I want to put a Athlon XP1600 on it with a new 40GB drive that has no OS on it. Will the board boot with the XP 1600 and not fry it so I can update the BIOS later? Or will I have to use the old T/Bird to get things up and running and then update the BIOS?

I use the same board, had the same 1.2 AMD T-Bird, and did the same thing you are but I flashed the BIOS BEFORE installing the XP processor. To error on the side of the health of the chip, and since it's not that big a deal to reinstall the 1.2 and flash,... that's personally what I'd do.
