OK, I have a duron 600 (golden bridges cut, used a mechanical pencil to connect all L1's)

Also: A7V (yes, I set the jumper mode to enabled)

Im trying to get in at 800. all I get is long beeps when I power up. I can get in at the default settings.

I am trying to make the DSW switches set to all on (100/33.57)
the DSFID switches are all 8.0 multiplier setting

and the Voltage regulator output settings are on 1.475/1.5 volts

do I need to make any adjustments?

Is my voltage too low, or is this a case where I probably didnt get the bridges connected. I drew them in pretty good, so Im not sure what/if something is wrong there/

was I supposed to connect any other bridges?

oh sh*t, I just realized that the pencil that I am using is a hi-polymer lead...

I am not sure if this is graphite based or not. Crap

does anyone know if this lead will work?

Also, please let me know if I was supposed to connect any other bridges or set any extra jumpers besides the ones listed above.

thanks

You may want to try the graphite pencil, but if you think back to school, lead is a metal and is conductive!:)

Set a higher default voltage. Although my chip does 800Mhz at 1.5V, i'm not sure whether it applies for the majority.

Use a high graphite content pencil.

well, its been a long night. Im sick and Im giving up for now.

I got it to post at 650. Big whoop.

I think that it is a case of poor conduction in the pins.

tomorrow I will try and post again with the lead wipped off and see if this is just a coincidence and I am able to post at 650.

I cant seem to get past the 650 mark with my current setup, even with the voltage maxxed out.

I will also try again with the graphite pen tomorrow.

I think this polymor blend lead is the problem...

we shall see...

On a side note, all my dip switches are upside down, is that the case for everyone else?

Just curious...

try repenciling....

It has taken some a few tries before they got the pencil thing right...

I found a magnifying glass helped me...

Well, with the case upright, ON position for the dipswitches means that the switch must be in the lower position. OFF means the opposite.

Up the voltage. My Duron 600 wouldn't go at 800 until I hit 1.7 or 1.8. Don't remember exactly. What i do remember is that unlike some people, I had to up the voltage almost right away.

I HAVE ARRIVED!!!

Finally, 850 @ 1.75v!!! :) :) :)

So, the pencil trick worked after I erased, remarked, erased and remarked again.

Amazingly, my 600 duron posts at 650 without a single bridge being connected. But of course, who would be satisfied with a puny 50mhz increase ... hehe...

SO, the problem must simply have been my pencil marks, the fact that I was able to post at 650 but no other speed threw me off. At that point I thought I had made adequate contacts...

This chip simply wont do anything higher unless I up the voltage to 1.85 and at that setting I was getting an Idle temp of 50c...

I like the 850 temp of 39 with the more stable 1.75 voltage. Maybe if I get a better cooler I will try for the Ghz barrier... :)

for now I am quite pleased with the phenomenal speed of the 850!!!

Wow, I cant believe that I went a month before trying this!

thanks everyone for the help!!

Now I can get back to paying attention to other things in life, like eating and sleeping.
