Building a new rig and both these cards are about the same price.

EVGA 512-P3-N884-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ Superclocked Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

or

HIS Hightech H387QS512NP Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported IceQ3 Video Card

The HIS is only 20 Dollars cheaper. Need advise as far as which one is the better deal, and which one will take less power, TY.

The 3870 is much slower then gtx+. You can't even compare them. 3870 is at the same level with 9600 GT.

I would estimate that 9800GTX+ is about 40% faster then 9600 GT. It's at the same level with ati 4850.

Definitely the 9800GTX. The 3870 will take less power but will be slower. Are you crossfiring the 3870?

The 9800 GTX+ is on the same level as the HD 4850. If you are looking to save money, you could go right in between the two with an HD 4830 for as little as $100 and it is better than the HD 3870. It is considered the best cost/performance card available. The most popular one on Newegg is the SapphireSapphire at $104.99 with a non-referenced cooler to keep the temps down but there are some cheaper ones.
