I'd plunk it into a different computer as a slave and run some online antivirus scans on it, then copy out whatever data I can't afford to lose. You'll need to take Ownership of some directories, such as C:\Documents and Settings\youruseraccount, which may call for starting in Safe Mode so you can get to the Security tab > Advanced > Ownership. Like this.

You don't have any stuff encrypted, do you?

1. I don't have another computer that I can use, so I guess I'll have to find a friend who can lend me one for a few hours.

2. I don't think I encrypted anything.

Okay, I'm going to order a Seagate HDD from Outpost.com in the morning . . .

hopefully, my parents won't get mad, because they don't like having to pay for things for my computer (since they think that I should pay for everything for it) . . . but i have no $$ right now

i guess it'll go to FS/FT after i use it and then i can pay back my parents
