Hello,

Sometimes when my system starts up, right at the end of the boot sequence (after all the icons are loaded in the tray on the right hand side), I get a BSOD with something about a stop error and a ntoskrnl.exe thing. When I check my event viewer I find the following message:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000026 (0x000401f0, 0xba31c9b0, 0xba31c608, 0x804b5f17). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\MEMORY.DMP.

Can anyone explain to me what is happening, and more importantly why?

System is a P3 800EB and Intel 815 MB....usual assortment of goodies on Win2k SP1

Thanks for any help.

Go to the Win 2K Pro searchable knowledge base ...you can navigate to it from the windows update page....and search for the error number code you listed ....0x00000026... you can add in some of the other terms you posted in the error mssg as well if you like...the code is specific for a known error type and the knowledge base contains a full description of the problem and resolution 9 times out of 10...good luck
