Hello! Huge problem here. Dropped a WD My Passport Ultra with the micro USB. The newer one without SATA. LED is blinking like it's reading but it's not recognized by my Mac and I'm pretty sure I hear the drive spinning. It has the tiny mousey click sound about once per 30 seconds. I've taken a few screenshots using various utilities to get some sort of feedback for troubleshooting. One recovery company told me that they have an in-house technique that can convert the native USB HDD to SATA so they can flush something to get at the sectors or something like that? Then they convert it back to SATA so they can image the HDD. They're asking at least $700.00 of course. Here are the screens. What do you think and I'm pretty sure I can do this myself with the right tools. I just want to know how they would convert the drive and what software would you recommend? I bought Carbon Cloner, DiskWarrior and DataRescue. All of them couldn't pull any data but various messages gave more insight as to what might be the problem. Here are various screens. Thank you for reading.

Here's a post by a guy who knows about these particular HDDs. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1761677/2tb-passport-connect.html

EDIT1: Two new things have happened since I removed the HDD from the enclosure.
WD Utility now says UNMOUNTED instead of NO VOLUME and now OSX Disk Utility actually sees it. Before it didn't. The HDD I'm trying to fix is called GREYULTRA.

EDIT2: I went out and got a Seagate 2TB HDD to image the HDD with Disk Utility but unfortunately I got error 252.

EDIT3: DataRescue is telling me to clone but I have Carbon Cloner and it doesn't see my HDD even though DiskUtility does.

Basically if you could tell me the steps and software and cables I should use I would like to recover my data myself. You think it's possible?
