Please help with video card

My friend has a compaq presario pc with a integrated video card. After buying a voodoo 3 card a year ago everything was fine.now he decided he wanted to upgrade the drivers. Big Mistake .After he upgraded the drivers all his games were jerky and none were smooth. so we went back and uninstalled the drivers and tried to reinstall the old drivers now the cd says error no new files found. now when we restart the pc all we have are grey colors and big letters. we have tried everything even trying to restore the registry to a good date no luck. it still doesnt work. only grey colors and no adjustments. my question is what are the settings for the integrated card.how do we disable it. any advice . he has windows 98
