Im trying to install my Razer Boomslang with Windows 2000 Professional. I installed the latest drivers from the Razer site, they are version 2.012.....when I try to install the drivers, I get a message stating that they wont work with the hardware...and after I do install the drivers and reboot, the mouse doesnt work at all...the only way I can get it to work is to install it as a PS2 compatible mouse...any ideas?

Are you trying to use the drivers from the "found new hardware" wizard? I'm pretty sure that's how I did it with mine under Win2k and it worked fine then. (I *think* that's how I did it)

I first installed the drivers from the executable that I had downloaded....there was a readme file that said to go to Device Manager, select the mouse, select Update Drivers, and give the path to where I installed the Razer software. I then get a message saying that it isnt compatible with the hardware.....Ill try removing it and rebooting, and when the mouse is found, give it the path to the Razer drivers and see if it works....seems like it will do the same thing though...

Well, I removed it, and when I rebooted, Win 2k automatically installed the PS2 Compatible mouse again...I reinstalled the Razer drivers...After I install the Razer drivers, when I go into Device Manager, click on the Karna USB mouse entry, in the Device Status window, I am told "This device cannot start." Any ideas?
