Hi there, I just purchased a set of Crucial Ballistix Tracer. Its at 1066 (pc2 8500). Installed it and it automatically recognized it at 1066 in Bios, which is great! However, when I opened up CPU-Z under SPD Slot #1 for Max Bandwidth it says "PC2-6400 (400 mhz)". I checked all the packages and box labels in came from and it says 1066 pc2 8500. Im so confused, can somebody please clearify whats going on here? I would really appreciate it. thank you.

hmm thats weird, my DDR2 800 Ballistix say Max Bandwidth: PC2-6400 (400mhz)

did u try restarting ur pc? i know that fixes incorrect or missing fields in cpu-z.
did u try to take out the ram and put it back in?

Does it have the EPP profile that lists 1066MHz...?

If you are stable, I would not worry about the SPD readings.

For cpu-z under SPD it says EPP#1 at 400mhz and EPP#2 at 533mhz. What does EPP mean? How do I know which one mine is set to?

It is very common to see lower-than-advertised speed SPD in cpuz. Nothing to worry about.

Thr new 6400 sticks suck @ ocing, as they're not double-sided anymore. If I were you, I'd keep these 8500 sticks. How high are they currently overclocking for you?
