Please Help With Mapped Drive Error...

I am using Vista x64 and trying to map a network drive from a WD mybookworld share. In safe mode it works but something seems to change and I can't figure out what it is. After a fresh install it works but once all the programs are loaded up it doesnt anymore. I disabled the AV and firewall and still nothing. Here is the error message I get

"\\Name is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to see if you have access permissions. A device attached to the system is not functioning."

Right now this is only happening on 2 computers on my network. Only thing I can attribute it to is the installation of Avast 5 that is the first time I saw it happen but it didnt happen as soon as I installed it though. I will try taking it off to see if that helps.

Thank you for any help.

Low and behold it was avast after I removed it everything worked fine. Now my question to you is does anyone have experience with this program yet since it is newly released? I am not sure which component of it is causing this issue.

Sorry if this should be moved to Software to windows now. I am going to revert back to the 4.8 series as I can't have this kind of problem on all the computer I use it for.
