PLease help with low memory benchmarks with 8k7a

I have an Epox 8k7a and an AMD 1.4 along with 512mb of crucial 2100 ddr. I have set up my system with both the noraml and fast settings in the BIOS and cannot get anywhere near the memory proformance that some of the reviewrs got. In fact I get almost the same results I used to get with pc133 RAM. I am gett like 431/520 on t sandra bench mark test. I ahve overclocked many different boards and can not seem to figure out why I am getting such a slow memory speed. Can someone maybe give me some pointers or maybe you have ran into the same problem and found a solution. Thanks in advance.
