Please help with final LCD purchase decision

I plan on ordering an LCD tonight, and need a little help with my final decision. I am leaning heavily towards the Hitachi CML174B 17" LCD, mainly because of the great pixel response times. It will cost me $630 delivered free from Monitorsdirect. For about the same price ($636 delivered, though there may be tax) I can get the 18" Dell 1800FP, which is supposedly a solid monitor. Finally, I could get the 17" Dell 1702FP for a bit less--just under $600 before tax.

Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks.

I bought a Samsung 17" 171v for $399 Ar at Best buy on black friday and I am very pleased. Not sure about how fast it is.

Macro.

I have the Dell 1702 using the DVI hookup on a Gainward gf4Ti4200. It was great with games, no noticeable blurring or lag. Color is good and at the default resolution very sharp (also very hard to read for my old eyes). It does not handle Photoshop and editing photo's very well. After spending $1300 on a Minolta 7hi camera I am now back to using my Hitachi CM 771 19".

My Planar has been fabulous.
I have the 18.1" model (sorry no model number handy), which offers analog, DVI and S-video in
I also includes a built-in usb hub, and built-in speakers.

The response time is fantastic, and best of all, Planar's 3-year single-pixel replacement warranty is unmatched in the industry.

One issue for some folks was the thickness of Planar's arger LCDs.
Current models tho, offer the slimmer bezels and thinner form factors that some folks are particular about.

Planar made it's reputation in the Medical Imaging profession, so they obviously are very good at their prices since they
sell the LCD as a computer monitor as a kind of a side line.

I don't like thier appearance, even thaogh they work very well.

I bought a NEC 1720M after looking at and comparing everything.

The Samsung is also very nice.
