Hey everybody, nobody's biting in the GenH Forum, so I figured this might be a better place to ask,

I need some (a lot) of guidance on something I think I'll be undertaking in the next week or so. I'm planning on Dual-Booting Win98SE and Linux (Probably Mandrake) on 2 30 or 45GB 75GXPs in RAID0 on a Promise Ultra66 modded to a FastTrak66.

Now, I'd like to ask:

1) How do I start this off? From what I understand the Promise RAID is only software RAID, so how do I get Win98 and Linux to see it as the same HDD if I've got to install the drivers in both places? (I've never used the FastTrak card before, so I was just assuming I plug the 2 HDDs in and let the Motherboard handle it once the card knows they're in RAID 0?) Will Linux even recognize the card?

2) I've heard that I need to install Win98 first before I do Linux, just want to verify this, and do you have any links that will help me out with this? I haven't really touched Linux before so I don't know much about installing it. Any special setting to get the Boot menu to recognize both OSes?

3) Is there a special way I need to partition this? I was thinking 4GB for Win98 on Partition 1 (FAT32), another 4GB for Linux on Partition 2. Then split the rest up somehow, but I'm not sure how. It'd be preferable if I could share files in between, but isn't Linux only FAT16? Will I have to keep say a copy of an MP3 in two different partitions just so that Win98 can read one copy, and Linux can read the other one? Any suggestions or pointers? I'm planning on keeping an image of each OS partition on either a CD or on another HDD, maybe even the 3rd Data file partition as a quick backup spot.

Thanks!
