Hi,

Windows 98SE hangs as soon as I install the driver for the Matrox G400 and reboot it. I have my aperture speed set to 4x. I have'nt changed anything else in the bios. If I run my system without the driver for the Matrox G400, everything runs fine. I have even tried to downloaded the driver from the web and installed it ( after reformating the drive and installing the windows 98se for the nth time)

PLEASE HELP!

My system configuration is as Follows:
P III FCPGA 733MHz
Trinity 400 - S1854 Mother board
2 128 MB PC100 Kingston Memory - DIMM SDRAM in slots 1,2
Matrox G400 Video card - single head
Sound Blaster Live - MP3 sound card
HP 9100 Read Write CDROM
Linksys 10/100 ethernet card
CNEt voice/data/fax modem 56kps
soundblaster 2 speakers.

Thanks
Sue

Have you assigned an IRQ to the card? Most new video adapters use one. If so, check to see if there are any conflicts. Also, when you wrote about the aperture size, were you referring to the AGP aperture setting in the chipset features of your BIOS? This should be set to at least 64 if were talking about the same thing. I wish you luck.

Have you completely removed all traces of old drivers before you installed the new drivers?
