I am building a computer with an Epox 8k5a and a 2200 T-bred. I have a 400 watt Powmax redundant fan PS. I am currently formatting my HDD, but when the computer is shut down and the power supply switch is on, there is what seems to me a loud electronic whining. I don't hear it when I power up, but there is a lot of fan noise then. When I shut it down the noise is there. If I turn the power supply switch off, after a few seconds it seems to wind down then stop. I am worried that something might be frying or something, but so far other than some fdisk problems everything seems good. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I unplugged all of the power to the various drive and still got the sound and it doesn't sound like it's coming from the power supply.
