I am getting REALLY pissed, ready to toss mainboard......seriously.
I had a 1.4 Tbird, EYHJA and that worked fine...I ordered and installed a new XP1600+ and the $hit hit the fan. During boot up of winXP, it just hangs at the logon screen. Also, when it re-boots and goes into check disk, it locks up with the countdown at 6 seconds.
This is my SECOND XP1600+ too, 1st one was RMA'd for the same reasons as this one. My test processor, an Athlon 650@800 runs fine and I have installed the latest BIOS. Here are my specs:
8K7A+ rev 1.0 (are there newer revs?)
PAL8045 -or- FOP32-1
512MB Crucial PC2100 (settings controlled by bios)
Dual IBM GXP60's in Raid 0
Leadtek GF3 Ti200
SB Live Value digital
3COM 3C905 Nic
etc, etc.
