Hey guys,

For some reason I cant overclock past 2.81 ghz (148/37). Anywhere above this and windows wont load. I tried bumping up the vcore to 1.50 and 1.75 (still no boot). Can someone tell me what might be the problem?

Here are my system specs

Intel Pentium 4 2.53 533 512 cache
Alpha pal 8942 w/ Enermax adjustable fan
Asus P4S533
Kingston 512MB 333MHz DDR PC2700 DIMM CL2.5
2 WD 7200 rpm 60 gb hard drives
Enermax 350 watt Power supply
Radeon 9700 pro
5 case fans

Cant be the temps cause they run very cool, cpu is running at 32 celcius right now @2.81 ghz.

Thanks in advance guys

I haven't deal with Intel processors before... but I would imagine the same basic principles apply... try relaxing the RAM timing settings.

I don't know what kind of BIOS you have, or what options you have as far as the settings... but set them to Optimal, or just change the individual settings yourself... for the timings, a larger number is slow (more relaxed)

Under mem ratio make sure it is set to 1:1...that way the memory will be running 296mhz or slightly underclocked....If that doesn't work I would start to look into the fact that sis mobos and sis645 and sis645dx chipset are notorious bad overclockers with many sis645 boards not making it past 137fsb while the 645dx wont get to the 150's like you are dealing with....That is not an ocers board, trust me!!!

good point...I forgot which is funny since you and I were some of the first to run asus p4s333 (sis645) mobos around these parts and saw this limitation first hand. On our side at the time most Intel i845d chipsets did not offer this lock function as well...

What about the Asus P4PE? Is this a good board? IF not, whats the best board in your opinion under $200.

Thanks in advance.
