Please help, problem with Radeon

I've got a Radeon SDR PCI, the OpenGL driver of which refuses to work in Windows 2000 (DirectX does work, however, according to dxdiag). I get this error message when I run one of my OpenGL games:

*** tuxracer error: Couldn't initialize video: Unable to create GL context (Bad file descriptor)

Is some file corrupted, or is the registry fubar'ed or what? Any ideas? TIA.

Try another game. Looks like it's an issue with the Radeon and the particular game you are trying to run.

Make sure you download the latest supported driver from Ati as well.

I've tried the latest beta drivers (since when I checked a few days ago, the latest supported drivers were the same version as the ones on my CD).
OpenFX (a 3d modelling program), won't display it's OpenGL preview, either. Funny thing is, though, that the flying objects screensaver (the donut-looking thingy) works.
