for christmas i got a new Thermaltake Armor+ case as well as a pw850i LCS, i installed my old motherboard and parts into it and now the computer refuses to start, I am using an ASUS P5KC Motherboard, Intel Q6600 Quad Core, ASUS ENGTX275 video card, a 550 psu with 5gb of ram, the computer physically turns on but the screen stays blank and none of the keyboard lights blink or anything, I added a 450W psu in on top of the other just to power the 4 IDE plugs on the Graphics Card to check for a power problem but still the same problem, i used to have that set up in my old case and it worked fine due to lack of IDE power cables.

please help im dying to get this working

also the Armor doesnt seem to have a speaker so i dont get any beeps during startup

Your mobo might be shorting out against the case.

I have the original 8000 series Armor, which supports both ATX and BTX. There is one small section of the mobo plate that needs to be covered with a thin piece of plastic or whatever...without that section covered, an ATX mobo will short out against the case.

I don't think the current Armors support BTX, but it's still entirely possible the mobo is shorting out some other way. You might want to reassemble from the ground up again, and pay particular attention to all of the mounting hardware.

I am unable to see anywhere where it could be shorting out, due to the new LCS it'll be quite a pain to remount and might save this option for a bit later if no other replies work, cheers for the help

He's saying the MB may be grounding out due to a brass MB standoff under the board in a wrong place.
