Ok i was playing Age Of empires III. then all of a sudden i heard a Clicking sound and my pc just turned off!!!. I tried turning it back on but nothing. Tried a different UPS nothing as well. When i Turn the switch in the back for the power supply the Green light turns on for the motherboard. when i press the button to boot it up nothing happens.!! What could this be and what is the next step for diagnoising whats wrong?? Should i change Power supplys and see if that works?

Thanks,

Orlando

OK i took apart everything and cleaning and air blowed all the dust. Put the power to the mother board, HEatsink fan, and video card. Tried to boot up but nothing as well. Does this mean it could be my mother Board or CPU?? Or perhaps a short Circuit?? I could see my POwer Supply fan, CPU fan and Video Card fan move for like 1 second then thats it. (it looks like its trying to boot up but something is holding it back.) Wouldnt it still boot up if it was my Cpu?? Can some one please Help ME!!!

Thanks,

Orlando

It may help if you post detailed specs on your system's components, including the brand and model of the power supply, all the drives & cards, and the CPU and RAM.

Since you mentioned a UPS, also try the system not plugged into the UPS, but rather into a surge-supressor strip or straight into the wall, just to rule out UPS overload/overheat.

Um have you heard of haveing more then 1 pc??? Anywayz... I have Amd 64 3000+, Asus K8v Se Deluxe mobo, The 520 watt Aspire, Ati 9800 Pro falsshed to a 9800xt W/ Atric Cooling Fan, 1 gb of ram Crosair vauleSelect.

Ok i dissconnect everything and just ran the Mobo and Cpu and it Booted up!!! now i have all the fans on and ram and it also booted up. So Mobo, Cpu, ram, case, are all good. looks like its the Video Card then.... dam! It must of burned up yesturday or something not sure. Its been falshed like that for a while. So im going right now to attach the video card on with a monitor, and see if it boots up. If it doenst them im sure it is the Video card. Im also going to try my spare Video card and see if that one will work. If not then i guees it could be the Agp slot.

Just FYI, the call to ATI will probably be a waste of long-distance charges. You modified your card by flashing and by removing the stock cooling, so your warranty is bye-bye :(
