ok im planning on building a system that will last a while and play the latestest games on a 19" 1280 x 1024 rez monitor i have no need or reason to go any bigger on the monitor nor will i.

i have 500 gbp to spend and a few parts hardisks and opticals from my old system heres what ive come up with so far

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L _ BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail _ Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 _ Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU _ GeIL 4GB (4x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel _ Akasa AK-ZEN-01-WH Rev.2 Zen White Case

does everything fit ok as in no choke points etc?

i was planning on overclocking to 3ghz will stock cooler be ok

will i need 64 bit vista to get all the ram to work is it worth it ? i heard u have to have 64 bit to use more than 2 ghz of ram

is the ram the right speed will i need to alter anything on the ram to clock the process up?

id really appreciate any advice cuz im planning on buying this stuff tomorrow

also if anyone fancies talking on msn so i can brain strom them please im me you msn and ill promise not to bug you

thanks alot guys i hope someone helps

DDR2-800 is more than fast enough for overclocking an E7200 to 3GHz. Don't spend the extra money on DDR2-1066. You could also go with a 550W PSU if you wanted to, and if the ATI HD4850 is less expensive, I'd get that. 2x2GB is a better configuration for your RAM, and while 32-bit Windows won't see all of it, it'll see most of it. If you already have a copy of XP I wouldn't worry about buying Vista. If you're buying a new OS, I'd say go Vista 64.

You should be able to manage that overclock on the stock cooler, but your temperatures probably won't be the best in the world, and I dunno how noisy it'll get.

thanks guys this is the kinda advice i need more advice and opinions appreciated

are any of the components not allow others to reach there full potential or anything?

O no, with the 9.5 multi on the 7200 - ; 400fsb will bring you to 3.8Ghz off the rip with DDR2 800. 1066 DDR2 will give you 533fsb even before you have to start worrying about overclocking your memory... if you can manage another 100, get the 4870

EDIT: that vid card is fine, thought i was in another thread, for the GTX card 😀

3.8 GHz is about the limit of the E7200, so there's no real reason to bother with DDR2-1066.

Hi,can anyone correct me if i am wrong.the e7200 and the e8500 is basically the same chips, just that the better ones are used as e8500 and the not as good ones are used as e7200?i came to this conclusion because both of them are 45nm and both has 9.5multi.

It would actually be more accurate to say that the E8200, E8400 and E8500 are basically the same chip, and Intel just assigns multipliers to them.
