I just tried to upgrade to ASUS M4a785td And AMD Phenom II 550.. install seemed fine bt ther computer wont post ...I have disconnected everythinig other than the powersupply and i don't even get an error code beeps....did i get a bad MB could it be the CPU nothing else is connected at this point..
 
EvilHomer you seem to be on a roll lately with computer problems. Maybe take a break and have a beer?

Do a minimal install outside the box with one stick of ram and the GPU. Make sure the stick of ram is in the right slot for that configuration. Make sure any needed additional power connections to your GPU are plugged.

C'mon, you know this. Sometimes you have to start with the basics. There aint no 'easy' button.
 
Try reseating the cpu. Take it out and put it back in the slot. It's happened to me once. Wasn't seated correctly in the socket and didn't even post.

Thank you ..Did that and My PSU had another ATX plug so one of them seemed to fix it thank you for your hel all seems good now...

LoL thanks Actually Im just the guy that everyone goes to to fix their stuff ..a few of these things have been building up and I cant figure em out and I been away from the board for a while ..So once i was posting about my stuff I decided to throw in the problems I can't figure out ..Unfortunately ..they still seem to stump everyone.... Well at least I got my computer working .. Thanks for your help with the sound card ..I think im goig to have to wind up just re-installing windows on his computer ...
