Hi, I have an old Dell motherboard which was from Dell. It used to have a P3 1ghz on it, Socket 370, and used RIMMS. I have tried to install a Celeron 700Mhz , SOcket 370. Whne I power up, there is no signal to the monitor and there appears to be no hdd activity. Is this Celeron compatible?

Doubt it, I think the high end dell board doesn't support celerons...

The RDRAM came with the old PC. So, do you think just a new motherboard would be ok? I was looking at the Gigabyte GA-6VA7+, its just for word processing so doesnt have to be mind blowingly good. Would this board do, then?

NO NO NO. In order to use the celeron, you would need a new motherboard AND new(PC133) ram. Why did you take the P3 out in the first place?

I understand that I need a new motherboard and RAM. I took teh P3 out to put into a CUSL2 with a LOT MORE RAM. So, would that motherboard WITH new SDRAM be ok?
