Ok, I thought that this was a SB Live issue, so I went out and bought a TB Santa Cruz, and install it, but the hiss is still there! I even clean installed Win XP, and its still there. I cannot get rid of it. So what causes the hiss? Well, the speakers has to be in a 4 speaker setting. When it is on a 2 speaker setting, the left front speaker doesn't hiss. Even when it is on a 4 speaker setting, I can set the balance to all left or all right, or all front or all rear, and the left front stops hissing! Its only when all four speakers are on, for some inexplicable reason, the left front hisses. And it does not constantly hiss either, it just hisses it seems at certain frequencies. What is going on here! This is REALLY ANNOYING! Please help or give me suggestions on what can possibly be wrong.
Thanks
Heifetz
To clarify what the hiss sounds like, I guess its like a static noise almost like paper rustling. It is not faint, yet not loud, and most of the time covered up by lower frequencies, but when I play something that has a part that is mostly higher frequency, it is very apparent!
Actually, I realized upon closer listening, its coming from all 4 speakers. Except that on the right front speaker, its the least noticable, even when I put my ear up to it, I can barely notice it, while on the left front speaker its the most noticable, and both rear speakers are in between.
Thanks
