Please help my friend with her Motorola cellphone

I'm not going to try and get sympathy for her by saying things such as she is a sweet girl whose first cellphone was stolen and someone used about $100 in 900 number charges the night she lost it, but that's true if it gets it.

It's a T720 phone and I've looked how to unlock it online, but the only places want close to $50 to do it, and she paid $63. Just was wondeirng if anyone knew how to do this for cheaper.

What company does she use? I would guess it is Cingular.

I have the same phone with Tmobile and will have it unlocked after 2 week when my thrid month payment cleared.

Oh, I think it is illegal to ask the method to have the phone unlocked tho, at least it is on Howardforum.

Yeah, it's Cingular. But the phone will only work for AT&T right now.

I have an unlocked T720 that is unlocked, that WAS on rogers at&t. PM me if you want to trade? I hope yours would work with Rogers AT&T tho. Vancouver iwll do it for around $20 CDN.
