I could not find a Sound Card are so I figured I would try here.

My Aunt has an HP Media Center M300Y PC and she had a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card in it and was working perfect.

She purchase the Sound Blaster Audigy 4 and installed the card and software and said it was working fine until she restarted the computer.

Now she has no sound at all and when she looks in the control panel it says No Audio Devices.

She has uninstalled the software and card and reinstalled everything and is still having the same problems.

Anyone have any idea what she can do to get her sound back and make this card work?

Thanks.

first she needs to remove all drivers, everything, get rid of it all. the problem is she didn't remove the old drivers before installing the new ones. then go to the creative website and have her run through the automatic update system:

http://us.creative.com/support...=1033&hdDspLangID=1033

that should fix it when the new drivers are installed from the creative autoupdate.

run the creative uninstaller, let it do its job and then you should also try using driver cleaner pro to make sure its all gone. you even get driver cleaner pro here:

http://www.drivercleaner.net

there may be a better app to use to clean out all the drivers but this one is free and it does the job. just tell her not to even stick in the soundblaster disc, just use the automatic update tool at the creative website.
