Please help - Motherboard for AMD X2 3800+

Total newbie here. Reading lots of articles for past couple of days. I need to put together not too expensive system ($500 range). It seems people say good things about this Gigabyte GA-M16P-S2 MB.

Is this good board? Went to local Fry's and they had bunch of Gigabyte boards so I am all confused. How is Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G AM2 compared to above?


I will be using 2GB initially with palns to go to 4GB RAM. Need to hookup 4 SATA drives.

I have my eye on that board, too. Haven't read anything bad about it yet. Would love for a current owner to chime in...
