Please help me

When my computer boots, it opens up 34 (!) windows of windows file explorer. I ran Ad Aware and several other spyware removers. Also ran registry cleaners, and scanned my computer with an updated version of Panda 7. They didn't find anything. This doesn't happen when I start in safe mode. I am running Win XP Home. These folders that opened had some type of shortcuts in C:\WINDOWS\pss I deleted these shortcuts but this didn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Run msconfig and see what's going on in the startup process. You should seriously check the currently running processes to see if there are any odd ones.
