I have 4 hdds, a cd burner, and a cd rom. 3 of the hdds are on my TRIOS (hdd switch). i have an IDE controller so i now have 4 IDE channels. What is the best setup for this? the boot drives(the trios) on the controller? or the board? the cd drives? the 4th (storage) hdd?

what is most efficient way to burn cd to cd within this setup. i know the burner and reader aren't supposed to be on the same channel.

lmk what you think
thanks

I'm assuming (never having seen one in person) that your HDD switch allows only one HDD active at a time. You should put the TRIOS and your other hard disk on whichever controller (on-board or off-board) is faster, assuming that you can boot from your off-board controller. Each one should have its own channel. Then put your burner and reader each on one of the two remaining channels. That should give you the best throughput you can get from your devices.
