OK, I have an entertainment pc running windows 2000 in the living room that has a wireless adapter configured so it can communicate with my Netgear wireless router w/ built in 4 port switch so it can connect to the internet. the living room computer IP is 192.168.0.3

my computer in my bedroom is connected via a wired connection to the Router. It's IP is 192.168.0.2

i installed vnc server on the living room pc. i want to be able to log on to the living room computer using vnc viewer from my bedroom computer.

from my bedroom computer, i open up vnc viewer, i type in 192.168.0.3 , type in the password, and then i get a box that says 'connection closed'. Why can't I connect!!!???

i hooked up a monitor to the living room computer and tried to view my bedroom computer and that worked fine. I have a feeling there is an issue going from a wired computer (the bedroom computer) trying to connect to the wireless computer (in the living room). Anyone have any suggestions please? thanks!

Perhaps it has something to do with the ports VNC is trying to use. Try doing 192.168.0.3:0, and see if that works.
