Please help me win this argument (re: Sept 11th)

I was arguing about with my friend about Flight 93 (the one that crashed into Pennsylvania).

Him: Don't believe what they tell you. Flight 93 was shot down by the United States and that's why it crashed into Pennsylvania. It was headed towards the White House and so they shot it down.
Me: What? You don't seriously believe that do you? That's insane.

<I proceeded to tell him about all the stories about what supposedly happened on that flight (ie. "Let's roll", etc.)>

He's still not convinced. He thinks it's just some typical patriotic rhetoric and doesn't buy into it. I just thought his theory is so ridiculous given the high profile of the incident. Can someone point me to any web sites that can disprove his "theory"?
 
Just ask him who he plans on voting for. His voting stance should help determine his credibility.
 
Tell him he's correct. They did shoot it down. It was all a big cover up. He should run to the mountains and join the militia. Let him know he should take arms and learn to fight as soon as possible because he knows too much. The Govt will be coming after him. Oh, yeah, it was all the Jew's fault too. 😉

This isn't a discussion of politicking and other such things. This is a discussion of a conspiracy theory, which is perfectly off-topic. 😛

Frankly, until I see solid proof of this, I will believe in the noble efforts of flight 93, because not doing so would be a discredit to their memories. If it turns out flight 93 was shot down, well, I've been had. But if it is proved to have been true (the accounts), and I ridiculed it, I would be very foolish indeed.
 
On Sept.11th, I specifically remember broadcast reports of US Air Force jets shooting down a jet which was subsequently ID'd as Flight 93. There were only 2 mentions of it on air before the story changed to "it crashed".
Better to have active martyrs than passive ones.
Either scenario is plausible.

Those original broadcasts were edited or did they just say we had the wrong info and here is the correct info?
 
also there were transcripts of cellphones...one guy told 911 that there was smoke on board w/ a mild explosion...that coulda been warning fire.

a large debris pile that belonged to flight 93 was found 5 miles away from the crash site.

witnesses hear and see f16's flying in the area moments b4 the crash.

these facts were broadcasted over cnn once....and never again broadcasted.



I think it was shot at by US jets for warning fire, but the passengers inside probably finished the terrorists off...


but was the struggle inside enough to have the aircraft go out of control and have a crash landing?...

were the passengers successful to even push down the cockpit door which might have been braced by the terrorist or the bodies of the pilots?

If it was shot down do you honestly think the government would come right out and take credit for killing a bunch of innocent civilians?

Yes. Bush has gone on record several times saying he would shoot down an airliner if necessary. If it was shot down, we'd know by now. That is one thing I have little doubt that he is BS'ing about.
 
I don't see how your political stance matters in this case. I think it was likely shot down and considering the situation, I don't have a problem with it.
 
he's right, there is a possibility that the government shot down the plane, a strong possibility.
nothing you see or hear in the media is the complete truth, there is always withheld information and sometimes false information in the name of national security.
 


Yeah, if it's true that it was shot down, would the government admit that they shot it down? I doubt President Bush had the gut to say "Yes, I ordered US airforce to shoot it down before crashing and killing more people"


It would be nice to know the whole truth, I have a feeling that it was shot down. I don't have any problem with this. On the other hand, I also have some doubt that it was shot down because they allowed the victim's family to hear the tape from the black box. They were prostesting that they have the right to listen to the tape until they learned more about what actually happened. They decided to shut up about it. It made me think it's more likely they crashed after battling with terroists. Those passegners, who tried to fight with hijackers, are HERO. Sadly, they got killed for preventing from crashing into D.C. Think about it...

I agree one thing, it had to be taken down. To tell ya truth, I rather to forget all about this and let it go...
 
I don't think it was shot down because of two things: One, I believe the government would have said so if they shot it down. They had perfectly good reasoning to shoot it down and admit that it was necessary. There's not much reasoning to shoot it down and then not admit it. Two, the stories about the cell phone calls to family, etc. are just too elaborate for something not to leak out. Too many people involved to keep such a made up story quiet. They couldn't even keep the Jessica Lynch story quiet.

I could be wrong but until I see or hear of legitimate proof to the contrary, I keep believing that the passengers of flight 93 were capable of causing enough trouble for the hijackers that the plane crashed.
