Well i never have bought anything off ebay before, but since i got this new cell phone - i wanted a data cable, and all roads led to this guy on ebay (very very good raitings, and i was told to go to his 'shop' on ebay from howardforums)

so i had to sign up to paypal (never had an account)

but the thing is - you can pay through your credit card from paypal - to the merchant?

Whats the point of going through paypal?

is it just a ebay thing for security?

yeah, this way you dont have to give the cc number to the merchant

you give it to paypal and they charge it, then they give the money to the merchant
