well i've screwed up the hardware config in win2k so that my keyboard and mouse aren't detected.
so i installed Win XP pro... only to find out some of the programs doesn't work

so now i want to re-install win2k
i want to format Drive C (system drive) but i want to keep Drive D (they are partitions) since i have 25 gig of stuff on it

i go to "computer management" and it shows that i can format D, but not C
i go to "my computer", right click on drive C and the format option is on

would the option in "my computer" work? or is there a better way to format my Drive C

btw the mouse and keyboard i sacrewed up was logitech... i was trying to install the softwares on it =(

thanks
i really miss win2k!

You can't delete the volume with Windows on while in Windows!

During the Win2k install, you should be given the chance to format the disk.

so that means my whole hard disk with the 2 volumes (C and D) have to be formatted?

No you DO NOT need to format both drives. What you have to do is install Win2k from CD-boot or the Win2k install discs, you will have the option to select "choose installation partition during installation." As far as I know the Win2k installation offers you the option to choose the partition anyway if it detects more than one partition on the drive. Just select drive C: (check to make sure the size of the drive is the size of your C: drive just to be sure). It will let prompt you to delete the C: partition and it will then format it, and then install Win2k.
