Please help me to get Microsoft Access Installed on my PC!

I am doing a college course and I am working with MS Access 97 and creating a Database. I want to get a lot of work done at home. I have Access 2000 (through Office2k) installed, but as i have to keep converting the database back and forth to each version, it doesent like it much.

I tried installing MS Access 97 though MS Office 97, but when i load access it tells me that their is no licence on the machine. I tried uninstalling the 2000 version, but nothing. It still does it. I tried this Office 97 with Access on my friends machine and it worked fine because he never had Office 2000 installed.

How can i get Access 97 working on a machine that previouslly had 2000 installed? I am using Windows ME. Is there any way in which i can remove all 100% trace of 2000 on my system as i do not want to reinstall windows ME.

Thanks!
