I'm looking to get a new monitor for my system. I currently using a Sony E200 (17"). I'm looking to get a 19". I do have a few requirements.

1. must be a AG type, not a shadow mask

2. must be able to do 1600X1200 @ 85Hz

3. I don't want to spend more than $400 including shipping.

Any sugestions ?

This monitor fails to comply with sean2002's second requirement.

I have a CTX PR960F. It's completely flat and it can do 1600x1200. However I'm not sure I'm happy with the picture quality at that resolution ... I'm not sure if it's the monitor's fault or my GF3's.

CTX = cheap, it's not your GF3.. 🙂

I have 2 Dell P991 (19" FD Trins made in Japan by Sony, branded for Dell) and they do 1600x1200 @85Hz without a problem. They look beautiful too.

THEY ARE $429 then you get a %20 ($85 off!) discount and then shipping is outrageously cheap and most of the time FREE!

OH and they come in Beige AND Charcoal colors.

Nice DEAL!

DUDE YOU'RE GETTIN' A DELL!

The Samsung 900NF can do 1600x1200 at 85 hz. It's listed as a valid mode in the display settings--there was another thread about this.

Great monitor.

EDIT: Hmm, I just saw yet another thread that says it can't now, that the specs have changed. Dunno. Mine handles that refresh rate just fine, but then, I've had mine for months and someone was speculating that the new ones are different. (??)
