Why oh why am I stuck with a 15% OC? Please help me decide what to change or try next:

PIII700 cA2 with stock HSF
Soyo 6BA+IV
256 MB(128x2)Mitsubishi RAM 7.5ns; specs CAS2 up to 100MHz & CAS3 up to 133MHz
Asus V6800 DDR DLX
IBM DPTA-372050 20.5GB 7200rpm ATA66
SB! Live! Value?
Aopen KF45A case + 250W PS
Additional case fan
GlobalWin CAF12 slot fan

Currently 7*115 = 805MHz @ 1.65v. CPU idles at 30-35C. V6800 idles at 55-60C

I can get this mutha to stabilize beyond 805MHz at default voltage. Should I

a) change my RAM - Crucial CAS2 or Kingmax TinyBGA 150?
b) get an i815 board?
c) get a cB0 or cC0 CPU?
d) get better CPU cooler - GORB? PEP66? FOP-32?
e) raise the core voltage?
f) lower memory timing to CAS3?
g) forget it - I'll never notice the difference even if get another 100MHz by a better OC

Thanks for your opinions.

i don't know that fan you have on the cpu, but if it's good, then raise the voltage! duh! it's the only option you have that won't cost you money!
you aren't stuck at a 15% increase, you just haven't done anything to try. that v6800 should handle the increased speed fine, as should the sb live, so that isn't holding you back. as long as your fan can keep your temps down, raise the friggin voltage.

getting a better cooler while still running at default voltage wouldn't do jack because the temp difference is negligible. heat is not holding you back.

The cA2 700E's aren't good overlcokers. Few cA2's are. In order form wosrt to best, the core steppings are cA2, cB0, cC0. The cC0 700E virtually guarantee 933mhz (133fsb)with decent cooling. The cB0 most likely gets at least 868(124 fsb), 933+ not being uncommon. Your cA2 700E on the other hand is pretty much around it's oc expectancy, although a bit low.

So do what Tetsuo316 says. Raise volatge to 1.70v, 1.75v, 1.80v. Your ram isn't at fault thou, so upgrading that will result in nothing. You seem to have adequet cooling.

You'll likely squeeze a bit more, but don't think your cA2 is under-performing.

Tetsuo is right. try a voltage above 1.65. that would cost you nothing. if you are having problems running the system stable after a voltage increase, then start thinking about a CPU with better stepping. although cA2 stepping is not geart for OCing, increasing the voltage should do the trick.

if you have to take it farther, the next most important thing to consider in the stability of an OCed system is good memory and video. your ASUS V6800 isnt holding you back, so better RAM would be the next step after trying a voltage increase or a CPU with better stepping. you cant go wrong with Crucial, and i've heard nothing but great things about kingmax's tinyBGA PC150

Thanks.

Sounds logical. First up the voltage. I assume that this wil raise the temp. How hot is acceptable? If this doesn't give me a stable 840MHz then I'll start to think about a different CPU.
