I have a WD120 with a bunch of data on it that i need. But when i restarted my computer the drive cannot be active and chkdsk cannot be run because it says there is a corrupt master file table. There is no clicking or anything and this drive. Please tell me theres a way to get this data back...

i dont know... try booting from knoppix, and using that to look at the drive? might work... probably wont. i really dont know.

I don't know what OS you're running (or if it even matters) but the Win2000 CD has a utility called "fixmbr.exe" on it that I used to save my ass once. It may work fine for any NTFS disk, or it may be on the WinXP CD too.
