Please help me install System Shock 2 on W2K!!!!!

I continue to get an error that read's "this product cannot be installed on window's nt due to microsoft direct x 6.1 limitation's"

I have Direct x 8.0a installed as well as SP2. Surely someone here has had success installing this game on W2K. What is your secret?
 
You may be able to get away with install it on a win98 machine and then just copy it over to win2k and run it. I usualy keep most of my game installs around that way.

Did it work for you? I had read that on Ignightforce websight."get a comand prompt,change to the cdr drive, then type setup igntforce." It attempts to install but i get the same error. There has to be someone that has had this error and got around it. This is a popular game, i would figure there are alot of 2K user's that have this game.
 
I just tried it and it worked fine for me. Don't forget the - in -lgntforce. It won't work without it.

Start -> Run -> d:\setup.exe -lgntforce
 
It will work. Also make sure you specify the CD drive and then apply the patch

Start -> Run -> X:\setup.exe -lgntforce

where X= drive #
