Please help me get to a gig

My computer Duron 600 does 900mhz. At idle the temp is only 38C. It does 950mhz and at idle the temp is only 41C. I tried to boot at 1000mhz and I got all the way to the bluse screen with the mouse cursor. It just locks right there. I have noticed at 900mhz and at 950mhz sometimes there is a slight lag at the same place. I know it is not the temp because when I rebooted the temp was only 43C in the bios. Do you guys have any suggestions? My vitals are below. I did up the voltage to 1.85. Thanks!

Why don't you try leaving the multiplier at 9.5 and raising the fsb to get up to 1ghz. I've heard some ppl say that they couldn't run their amd cpu at 10x100, but they could get over 1ghz using the 9.5 multiplier and raising the fsb. I have a P3 700@1ghz and not an AMD cpu, so I could be wrong, but it's worth a try.

It may be that you have just hit the limits of your particular CPU. You are already getting 50% over the rated speed for your processor, which is a pretty significant increase! I know that some Duron 600's have reached 1Ghz, but most just can't get that high...

hey gplracer, there's another thing you can try. try using a combination of the "cpu fsb/pci" and the "cpu fsb plus" in bios. chances are you're may be overclocking the agp/pci/isa slots beyond their operating frequencies, resulting in crashes. idealy, any of the slots should not exceed more than 5mhz of their default running frequencies (pci=33, agp=66, and isa=16 i think). good luck.

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it. I will give it a try. I am afraid I am at the limit of the cpu since cooling is not an issue.
