I plan to overclock to at least 3.6ghz

What I have:
video card: nvidia 9800gt
HSF: cooler master hyper 212 plus
CPU: i7 920 - jumped on this because of microcenter

What I need:
motherboard - looking for usb3.0 speed capability and decent OC ability (no biostar)
ram - so do i need 1333 or 1600 speed of 3x2gig of ram?
psu - i am leaning towards the corsair 750hx
case - leaning towards cooler master centurion 590

Goals:
1) Overclock to at least 3.6ghz
2) NO SLI - i am only going 1366 due to higher OCing ceiling and microcenter deal

suggestions/advice appreciated thanks

update:

current choices -
CPU Core i7 920 MICROCENTER
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Memory XMS3 6GB DDR3-1600 (PC-12800) CL8
Power Supply Antec Truepower TP-750 BLUE LED 750-Watt PSU
Case Centurion 590 (or antec 300)
HSF Cooler Master Hyper 212

total comes out to about 730 after rebates

thanks for the suggestions, i just bought an antec 750w at a price i couldn't refuse at the moment, so updated my post.

upon further research, i think im going with 1333 ram... now to find it...

yeah i'm waffling between the antec 300 and cm 590 as they are in my price range

thanks i've narrowed down my motherboard choice to the gigabyte x58a-ud3r

so now i need to pick the ram and either antec 300 or cm 590

i'm trying not to overspend on the ram, but i want something stable for sure, so i'm shying away from OCZ memory

i'm in the process of building a similar setup. the x58a-ud3r is high on my list as of now, and I have also considered the $165 gskil and the XMS3 CL8.

What are you planning on using for harddrives? I picked up a Samsung Spinpoint F3 from newegg with a thermaltake sata dock for $89, zipzoomfly also has then for $79 after MIR

This is the kit that cost me 129$ a while back. It's a shame because I would of built another i7 but due to these suck-a** prices on DDR3, things are on hold. And for that price, you might as well go with DDR3 1600

i am going to use a 1 TB western digital caviar black that I have on my current (old) system. i don't think it's worth it for me to purchase the samsung f3 drives... i was considering getting ssd but i'm woried about longterm durability issues (plus prices are high)

i agree with you absolutely... i thought 1333 was going to save me some but it turns out i can get the ram i listed in my OP for $155 after rebates.

Looks good. Everyone is giving good advice. I love my i7. It is not overclocked with a 4890 and 6 GB. So far it takes on everything I throw at it, including really hardware intensive 3D renders (it is a rebranding of the Xeon after all). My only advice, don't buy OCZ, which you're not! 🙂

yeah i was almost about to get the OCZ gold sticks, but i read too many bad reviews about them and the quality control. i rather save myself the potential headache and pay $20 more for good stuff.
