i KNOW i've seen them, but i cannot find them again.
I am trying to find a connector that will let me plug a regular USB device into a serial port on my laptop.
so in effect, adding a USB port by connecting through the serial port.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

What you've seen is the other way around... USB to Serial.
What you want doesn't exist. Sorry.

Yes - if such a device is available (I don't know of one myself) it's the only solution.

I feel your pain. I just purchased a Keyspan USB adapter for one of our IMacs and it came to $120CAN. Ouch.

I hate to say this but..........goto your local BestBuy.....goto this Mouse section....
Find the cheapest mouse that has both USB and PS2 connection capabilities.
Look at the connection end of the mouse. Many have a USB end AND have an
adapter for it to plug into the PS2 port. Purchase the mouse with adapter.
Then toss the mouse. There, you have your adapter..................
Seriously, ya can't find just the adapter for sale.............

GregMal,

I think that adapter just gives you a mechanical connetion allowing you to use a USB mouse on a PS2 port. It won't work with other USB devices which require a true USB connection.

Well, I knew that! Just thought he needed the adapter. Drivers
will have to recognize the USB to PS2 connection............
