Hi folks. I'm about to submit a report for one of my courses and I need a good program to plot mathematical functions (more specifically the factorial function: probabilities) with one and two variables. I tried so many programs, but couldn't find a program that does it all. Microsoft Mathematics turned out to be one of the best (User friendly with so many features), but for whatever reason it doesn't plot the factorial function correctly. With MS mathematics, you can fix one variable and change the other, but it is no good for me because I can't plot the factorial function with it.

Photon is the best that worked for me (simple, neat, and easy) and it plots the function I want properly and it does axis transformations, BUT it plots against one variable. So I have to fix one variable and give it a constant value.

This is the function:

(n − r)! / n!

It is the function that gives the probability of guessing a possibility out of a total number of possibilities (
Permutations without Repetition).

I don't want to explain probability theory here but this page can help:
https://www.mathsisfun.com/combinatorics/combinations-permutations.html

We can use the inverse of the function to -for example- get the number of possibilities of selecting r squares out of a grid of total number of squares = n. (If order matters and repetition aren't allowed).

As r increases possibilities increase and probability of guessing decreases. Likewise, as n increases (if r is fixed) possibilities increase and probabilities of guessing decreases.

I want a software that can plot this for me and enable me to control variables.

And no, I don't know how to use Matlab.....It has been ages since I last used it.

Please help and sorry I did this quickly. If you have questions please ask. Thanks.
