I am so tired of the add banners. all all the $hit. All that I can get is 56k servise. does any one know of something cheaper than 20$ a month? I know there are some 10$ ones out there. but where and how good are they.

thanks a bunch for your help

I'll tell you this: you will get what you pay for. With free ISP's you get banner ads. Not bad for the occasional surfer, but if you're online a lot, it's a major annoyance. There are plenty of sub-$12 ISP's out there, but you're likely going to have to deal with much more busies than normal, and slower throughput.

I work for an ISP that charges $20/mo, and I can tell you they do not make much on each dialup account. Those that charge less can only turn a profit by cutting back somewhere. That usually means there is very little (if any) support, a high user:modem ratio, older equipment, and less bandwidth. It simply is not possible for a budget ISP to offer the same performance of the larger companies by only charging $12 or $10/mo.

Suck it up and pay for a decent ISP. You'll be glad you did.

I am using peoplepc and so far it seems as good as dial up gets. $10.00 a month and nationwide. E-mail not so hot but OK.

goto PeoplePC.com.

Juno has two 56k services: 1)free but with banner 2)$9.95 per month, no banner. I've had the pay service for two years or so and dont have much to complain about. Rarely had a busy signal and I usually connect around 52k.

Edit: Juno just lowered there rates to $8.95 per month.

I thought Ide update. I got the 10$ juno. its ok for 10$ a month its unlimited yes internat sharing NO and you do get cut off if you try to stay on all night during a download + they make you use there E mail software NO POP3 stuff.

I give juno a C+
