Hi,

What I am trying to do is set up a combined 802.11G system with a CAT 5 system so I have internet access, printer & file sharing. This is what I have so far:

Cable-----Toshiba PCX5000 Cable Modem/Gateway------Linksys WAP54G Access Point

Computer 1 & 2 are wired CAT 5 to the Modem/Gateway
Computer 3 is wireless to the Access Point

1? Do I need a wireless print server for all computers to use either of 2 printers or can I use a Eithernet wired print server?

2? Do I need to bridge the wireless and Eithernet to share files & Print server?

3? Do I use Netbeui for the file & print sharing?

I'm kind of new to all this. Right not I at least have internet to all the computers but have not set up the file/pring sharing yet. Also am having trouble with the WEP so am un-secure until I get it figured out.

Thanks for any help you can give the dummy!

1. ? Do I need a wireless print server for all computers to use either of 2 printers or can I use an Ethernet wired print server?

A: It will be the least expensive and more flexible to get a basic Wireless printer server to each printer. Look at the D-link.com and Linksys.com they have the most offerings of printer servers, and find the combination that is best for you.

2. ? Do I need to bridge the wireless and Ethernet to share files & Print server?

A: No need for Bridging if it all connected around the Modem/Router unit.

3. ? Do I use NetBEUI for the file & print sharing?

A: You can use TCP/IP, NetBEUI or both, it depends how you are going to use your Network.
