Please help me decide between the ACS54 and ACS56 speakers

I'm probably getting one of the sets for Christmas, but I'm not sure which. I know that the ACS56 is about $40-$50 more, so that's a big factor. I'm a medium level gamer...I play Rogue Spear, NFS5, etc., but I don't sit around playing Q3A for hours on end or anything like that.

Currently I only have 2 satelite speakers, so either set would be a huge improvement.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of the ACS54's? I've heard that it's somewhat underpowered, especially in the subwoofer.

So, what would be your suggestions? Thanks!

After reading those reviews, I think I'm leaning toward the ACS54's because of price. The ACS54's are nearly 1/2 the price of the ACS56's, which is a lot of money for me. 🙂

Can anyone here with the ACS54's comment on if they're loud enough for general gaming?

I have the ACS56 speakers and they rock! I got them on a fluke. Best Buy had a legitimate sign on them that said $79.00. Boy, did they oops. That was supposed to be the price for the ACS54's. My wife graciously allowed my purchase last Christmas and I have never regretted it. My friends are always impressed as am I. As with the Soundforge review, I do like my music played through them. I use my ears to impress me not a test meter. Hope this helps....

After thinking about it, I don't listen to music really loud anyway, so I think I'm just going to get the ACS54's. The speakers will be used in a small room, so it seems like they should be plenty loud. 🙂

Though I'll have to get the ACS56's if I can get a deal like okydoky did. 😉
