Although I'm ordering mid-September I predict all my parts will be very similar, although I may go with x38 over P35 depending on how the reviews turn out... I seriously doubt anything major will come out between now and Sept. I'm going to use this system for gaming, school work, hardcore multitasking, movies, some audio/video editing. I need this system to last me for at least 3 years before another complete system upgrade. How does this stack up?

Well, that about does it...am I missing anything? The total is about $2341.40 on newegg. I'm hoping it will be around $2000 when I order in Sept. Also, how does everything check out? I've been doing extensive research the past week or two to put this build together. My main concerns are the RAM...will it suffice for overclocking (nothing extreme)? If anyone has any suggestions regarding any parts, I would surely appreciate it! Thanks!

Also, in case you're wondering, I will be upgrading from a 1.6ghz Pentium M Banias, 768mb DDR 333, and FX 5200...hopefully this system will be worth the investment.

Looks good, I'd go for a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme over the Tuniq Tower and there is a 24" BenQ which has an extremely good screen in it which is better than that model you listed http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16824014124 Also, get an 8800GTX instead of an 8800Ultra, the 8800Ultra is just an overclocked GTX basically, and the price difference isn't justified. Not only that, but in late november the 9800 series is supposed to be released.

Thanks for your comments, Tristor. I heard there were quality problems with the Thermalright you suggested me and it seems like the Tuniq Tower seems to be the choice of many on these forums. Could someone recommend me a better one for OCing quads? Furthermore, I like the 24" monitor you suggested me but it's way out of the price range of what I'm willing to pay for a monitor and I'm afraid 24" might be a bit too big...though I will consider other 22" WS's. Also, since the price gap is closing on the 8800's, I'm thinking more and more that the Ultras are becoming more worth it, but if more people say I should go for the GTX, then I probably will. I'm aware the 9800 series will be coming out in Q4 and I will utilize EVGA's step-up program for the new cards if the price difference isn't too ridiculous. Other than that, I hopefully, won't be doing any more upgrading on this rig.

The ultra is still indeed a waste of money.

Secondly, get the Corsair 520HX from buy.com for $70 right now w/ GCO. It's very similar to the one you picked but cheaper.

I would also just get DDR800 RAM. I doubt you will find you will be exceeding this in your overclocking.

Yes but on the other hand, he'll use it for just a little over 2 months, send it back to EVGA along with $50 dollars and get a 9 series card which will be atleast twice as fast, isn't that nice?:)

I also second 520HX or 620HX from buy.com
