Ok I am trying to build a computer for gaming. I have never built a custom computer before so I am new to this. I am not 100% on what to look for when choosing parts. This is what I got so far. Everyone please THOUGHRALY look through it. I do not know if everything is compatible with everything else so I need someone to verify that everything is compatible with each other.

Also if anyone has any suggestions if I should change any of the components I have chosen, please speak out!!!

And once again please verify that everything is compatible. Especially the motherboard and what not. I noticed that the RAM said like "3 volts" and "1.1 volts" and such. What is that about?

I know that I may need a new power supply. I am going to try the one that comes with the case and see if it will work. It is 500 watts and the PSU calculator I used on another site said my computer will only draw 380 watts. So I am going to see how many amps the +12v rail has on the PSU that comes with it.

Does anyone know Spevia (aspire)?s website or phone number?

Also someone told me that the Intel mobo I choose has an outdated bios and will not work with my other equipment. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks for helping!

read my post that is below yours about the SHOULD I JUMP

I have found some other combo deals on monitors and memory that may be a little better or cheaper, if you are not going to OC it.

Unless you are very fond of explosions, smoke and fire you don't want an Aspire PSU; their cases are also junk.

I would suggest the 380 or 430 watt Seasonic S12 or at least one of the entry level 350-400 watt Forton-Sources.

If you just want a basic case InWin make some of the best steel plastic cases out there. Better then Antec and CoolerMaster in my opinion; they feel solider, and the tool less options actually work (unlike the Coolermaster junk).

I would also spend a bit more and get monitor with a name you can trust; who the &%#! is Hanns?G?

COMBO DEAL:
MONITOR: BenQ FP202W Black 20.1" 8ms Widescreen
VID CARD:Connect3D 3056 Radeon X1900XT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
combo $564.98 and a $50 mail in rebate

Where is that from? link?

The CPU and ram you picked are very overclockable, but the mobo is not. If you plan on overclocking get another mobo like the gigabyte DS3, or Asus P5B. If not overclocking get cheaper DDR2-533 ram

I was interested in that motherboard too because of its price, but this thread has not been very encouraging and pretty much has scared me off:

I'm leaning toward the ASUS P5B right now, which seems to be substantially more solid and ready to use out of the box (I hope). A bit more expensive, but I need to be able to trust my motherboard..

Also, you might be able to save a chunk of money by buying from multiple companies. Check out Anandtech's real time pricing engine: http://labs.anandtech.com/
