Please help me choose the right combo? Thanks!!

Hello,
here's my deal...Very frustrated. I have an:
Athlon 600-K7m Asus board
Leadtek Gforce256 DDR
640mg of pc133 ram

It is NOT compatible at all with XP. I have had to deal with the "Infinite Loop"(so they call it) error that spontaneous reboots all the time....I am wondering if the conflict has to do with my vid card/my processor or Mboard?

Anywho, I am looking into replacing my MBoard/Processor...I am looking to find something that is not as finicky with the type of ram you use...I have had to deal with that with my Atlon system!!

Can you reccomend something that would cost ~250 & use my current components? I would probably prefer Intel at this time & I have always liked the ABIT & ASUS Mboards....and... Can I expect this will work with XP?

Before you change! I'd like you to try some of the leaked 27.10 beta drivers on the net for your videocard. Or simply going back to the 21.83 drivers because the newest drivers cause huge problems with XP and a Via chipset. You could keep your current motherboard for a bit longer! And processor. Do you *need* to change? If not, I would suggest just trying to try a different driver. Please?

or at least a different video card other than nvidia might be easier on your pocket book to borrow a card and try it first before you scrap a computer due to a malfunctioning driver.

also i did have trouble as did others with early drivers and norton anything locked me down until i removed it.
