I've asked this question before - thanks to all that advised.

Now I finally bought the receiver and I have the speakers installed, but I dont know what kind of sub to get.

my receiver is Onkyo 606
The speakers are 5 in-ceiling speakers: THESE

Which sub should I get? I am thinking of getting THIS but I dont know if this is a good match?

I would greatly appreciate advice. thanks!!

Yeah, if you want to stay as cheap as possible definitely go with the Dayton over the Polk.

If you wanted to spend a bit more the Bic H-100 would be a good step up. You could get one for around $220 shipped on eBay using the 25% cash back.

$200 ideal, but its okay if its a bit more. So realistically 230-240 is absolute cap. I just dont know how to match the sub to the speakers etc. I dont need anything crazy, I live in a townhouse so I cant make it too loud.

The BIC H-100 is one the most recommended subs in the $200-$250 range. Haven't heard one myself but it's supposed to be good bang for the buck.

Especially with the ebay deal, the BIC is probably a good bet.

I've also become a believer in dual subs. A couple of the daytons would be another way to go.

You don't really need to worry about this. While matching speakers in a setup is important (parituclarly the front/center speakers), having a "matching" subwoofer isn't really. You obviously wouldn't want some real cheap speakers and a 15" $2000 subwoofer that's going to completely overpower them, while at the same time you're not going to spend thousands on speakers and add a Dayton sub that won't be able to sound as refined.

So, bottom line is, just find the best sub you can in your pricerange. With your cap being in the low-mid $200s, I'd highly recommend the Bic H-100. I have one, and am really impressed with it.

You will not be disappointed with the BIC H100. I have it and it sounds excellent for the money.

The nice thing about powered subwoofers is that you can easily control the sensitivity to match the output of the mains. Just be wary that if you have sensitive mains, an low-power amp on the sub will not be able to keep up with the mains at high volume.

Yeah, that's the one. I believe there's a new version out as well which I don't know much about.

Most people get their H-100s through ebay.
